Full course description
The number of multilingual learners (MLs) across the U.S. and internationally in English-speaking countries continues to increase. However, the number of ESOL certified teachers has remained the same or even decreased over the years. Increasingly, MLs attend classes in general education and do not receive special language support in such classes. This means that ALL teachers need to be prepared to work with MLs, not just ESOL or bilingual education professionals.
The TESOL in K-12 professional development series is a five-session offering leading to a microcredential (digital badge). Participants may elect to complete one or more sessions. Any participant who completes all five sessions will earn the badge.
